CBD Candles DIY – Simple and Delicious

With hemp, cannabis, and CBD trending, you’ve probably seen different types of hemp in everything lately.

You can get it in:

And now… now, you can even find infused candles.

Believe us when we say we were really excited about this new development.

What Are Hemp, Cannabis, And CBD?

Cannabis candles have been wildly popular over the last couple of years as something to enhance your smoking experience.

The cannabis terpenes in the candle coupled with the THC you’re smoking will likely work together for a more intense session.

But what if you aren’t into traditional cannabis, you don’t smoke or you simply don’t like the smell?

Well, you can now find CBD-infused candles which lean more toward the aromatherapy end of the spectrum.

These are the type that we are so excited about.

Aromatherapy CBD Candle DIY

What Is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy itself has been around for ages.

The scent is largely used to provoke different emotions and thoughts and reactions.

It is also used quite frequently for relaxation and meditation.

Think about the last time you went for a massage.

When you walked into the dimmed room, ready to unwind, there was most likely incense or a candle burning.

Or what about the last time you spent a Friday night in, running a bubble bath and watching some television?

You probably lit a candle.

There is just something about the ritual of lighting something mixed with the scent factor.

Engaging multiple senses simultaneously elicits a more potent emotional (or physical) response.

CBD And Aromatherapy

Traditional aromatherapy is great, but burning a CBD-infused candle has double the rewards.

You get to create a peaceful and sensual atmosphere, while also reaping a slew of health benefits.

CBD-infused candles can provide pain relief, helping to ease everything from inflammation to arthritis.

Other Perks Of CBD Candles

In addition to all of the aromatherapy, relaxation, meditation, and health benefits, there’s one more perk of having a CBD-infused candle on your nightstand.

Once you’ve settled in and the candle has started to melt, you’ll have an amazing warm oil that can be used to rub into sore muscles.

You can even spend a slow evening with your partner, trading massages.

Choosing Oils For Your Candle

When you are choosing which hemp oil to use in your candle, keep in mind that full-spectrum CBD oil will have the most positive effects.

This is because it will have all of the cannabinoids, flavonoids, and terpenes in it.

This also will have a more neutral aroma.

If you accidentally choose true cannabis oil, it could smell like marijuana.

Pay attention to labels and descriptions so that you make sure to get what you want.

When choosing the scent for your candle, think about how you want to feel when you burn it.

If you plan to use it for relaxation, you might try lavender, vanilla, or sandalwood.

If you’re going to use it when you feel under the weather, try eucalyptus or peppermint.

Or if you prefer burning candles while cleaning or working, you might want to use citrus scents (like lemon, orange, lime, grapefruit) to uplift your senses and brighten your mood.

Directions For A CBD Candle DIY.

  1. Clean your jar or vessel, rinsing and wiping it out well.
  2. Use your glue gun to attach the hemp wick securely to the middle bottom of the jar. Make sure you have plenty of length through the top.
  3. Wrap the extra length of the wick around the chopstick to secure it. You don’t want it to fall down into the hot wax. Then lay the chopstick horizontal over the opening of the container.
  4. Get your double boiler in place on low to medium heat and begin to melt the soy wax and organic coconut oil.
  5. Once the soy wax and coconut oil have melted, turn off the heat and monitor the temperature with the food thermometer. Wait until it reaches one hundred and twenty degrees.
  6. Once the mixture reaches the correct temperature, you’ll begin to add in your CBD oil and essential oil(s). Mix slowly and thoroughly in order to incorporate the oil entirely.
  7. Begin to pour the wax and oil mixture into your container slowly.
  8. Gently tap the container on the table or counter to release any bubbles.
  9. Allow the mixture to cool for twenty-four hours before moving or burning.
  10. Unwind the wick from the chopstick and trim to about half an inch.

Other Things To Keep In Mind About CBD Candles

If you plan to share these candles as gifts–and they’re truly great gifts–it’s smart to share a few details with the recipient.

They may have questions about whether or not CBD has psychoactive properties or if it can make you feel high.

Sharing that CBD oil is completely legal and has less than 0.3% THC in it may set the recipient’s mind at ease and allow them to enjoy the candle even more.

Because we know they will enjoy this candle.
